Our mission is to tell America’s Stories . . .

Who We Are

The Independence Hall Association (IHA) was founded in 1942 to spearhead the creation of Independence National Historical Park. Today the IHA through its website US history.org is one of the preeminent providers of online US history, from the pre-colonial era to the present, with tens of millions of visits from 231 countries per year.

We are proud to be used as source material in hundreds of public, private and home schools in the US and abroad.

Are you interested in a particular topic and would like to see it on USHistory.org? Opportunities to support specific new digital history projects in 2025 are now available. Please contact IHA’s Executive Director for more information.

Help IHA continue to supply unbiased historical content for the public by donating now.

The IHA seeks to educate and motivate an informed citizenry that can shape the future. We are currently developing new digital resources to expand our historical content and reach broader audiences. If you are interested in learning more about IHA and our new initiatives, please contact our Executive Director, Dr. Kelley Fanto Deetz at deetz@USHistory.org
